Installing Intel® PROSet for Windows* Device Manager

Intel® PROSet for Windows* Device Manager is an extension to the Windows Device Manager. When you install the Intel PROSet software, additional tabs are automatically added to Device Manager. 


 NOTE:  You must have administrator rights to install or use Intel® PROSet for Windows* Device Manager. 

          Installing Intel® PROSet for Windows* Device Manager

Intel PROSet for Windows Device Manager is installed using the DxSetup.exe installation launcher.  This launcher performs Operating System, Language, and User Privilege setup before aunching the Microsoft Installer for Intel® PROSet for Windows* Device Manager to ensure a successful setup. Running the ProsetDX.MSI installation package without the DxSetup.exe launcher is not supported and can lead to failed installations and other unpredictable results. 

All Intel PROSet features are now accessed from Device Manager. To access features, simply open the Device Manager and double-click the Intel adapter you would like to configure. 


          Removing Intel® PROSet for Windows* Device Manager

Use Add/Remove programs from the Control Panel to uninstall Intel® PROSet for Windows* Device Manager.


          Microsoft Installer files in the Intel® PROSet for Windows* Device Manager.

The ProsetDX.MSI file contains the Intel® PROSet for Windows* Device manager program files and installation routines. The VC90_CRT_x86.MSI and VC90_CRT_x64.MSI files contain Microsoft run-time libraries needed to implement the advanced features of Intel® PROSet for Windows* Device Manager.
