Operating System Software Supported Compaq has worked closely with its software partners to enable SmartStart to set up a server and install all leading server operating systems using the off-the-shelf packaged product media as supplied by the software vendor. With SmartStart Release 5.5, Compaq supports the off-the-shelf Assisted Integration installation of the following: Microsoft Windows 2000 Server Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server Microsoft Windows 2000 Small Business Server Microsoft Windows NT Server 4.0 Microsoft Windows NT Server 4.0, Enterprise Edition Novell NetWare 6 Novell NetWare for Small Business 6 Novell NetWare 5.1 Novell NetWare for Small Business 5.1 Novell NetWare 4.2 Novell NetWare 4.2 SMP NOTE: Off-the-shelf installation refers to the ability to perform a SmartStart installation using the media distributed by the software vendor.

Installation


Contents of this ZIP file: Readme.txt CD ISO image spd.ini Making a physical CD from an ISO image file Download the file to a temporary directory and extract the ISO image to that directory. To create a CD from this ISO image, you must use a software utility capable of writing an ISO file to a recordable media such as CD-R. Note: Simply copying the ISO file to a CD-R will NOT result in a usable CD. CD labeling For reference purposes, please label your resulting CD as follows: SmartStart CD Release 5.50 spd.ini This file should be copied to a blank, formatted diskette. It will be used during installation to save profile information. For more information on SmartStart installation, please visit the SmartStart Quick Specs.
