Ultraminiature Connectors suit limited space applications.

December 13, 2004 - Series SMCX connectors configure minimal board-to-board height of 4.35 mm (BI) to 2.50 mm (BII). Surface mount units deliver VSWR less than 1.2 and IR loss of -0.25 dB. They are suited for applications operating up to 6 GHz, such as UMTS/CDMA, 802.11 wireless/PCS devices, semiconductors, smartphones, and M2M applications, and can be delivered in tray/reel packaging.

Ultraminiature Connectors Ideal for Limited Space

The SMCX board to board (BI, BII) series is a new range of ultraminiature connectors from Aliner Industries.

The connectors are ideal for use in space-limited applications working up to 6GHz, such as UMTS/CDMA, 802.11 wireless/PCS devices, semiconductors, smartphones and M2M applications.

Thanks to their miniature size, the SMCX series offer the design engineers the benefits of board space savings combined with superior RF characteristics for compact, high-density electronic packages.

The new SMCX connectors configure a minimal board-to-board height of 4.35mm (BI) to 2.50mm (BII), providing a 43-67% of space saving to standard MCX series (7.58mm). Other board heigh configurations as well as antenna connectors are also avaible upon individual customer demands.

This new series has been developed to replace two or three RF connectors with a single board-to-board connection; therefore, BI and BII connectors are ideal solutions where cost effectiveness and quick mounting matter.

Available in surface mount, all of the connectors in the series deliver VSWR less than 1.2, and IR loss of -0.25dB.

To satisfy the demands of modern production facilities, the SMCX series can be delivered in tray/reel packaging for high volume pick and place manufacturing.

Following the RF-connector trend of going smaller, higher frequency, and more cost effective, Aliner's SMCX board-to-board series has been used in various industrial applications in Japan and Taiwan.

Aliner's board-to-board connectors are produced in compliance with RoHS requirements.
