Reed Switch Assembly for PCB Mounting

Reed switch coil, 12V, for printed circuit operation.

Specification:

The coils are intended for use in dry reed switching matrices. Before production commences, the successful tenderer shall submit samples for approval.
 
Coil details:

The coils are to be constructed to NZBC drawings A3-11018/1 & /6. The coil former shall be made from a clear or black polystyrene material, or equivalent.
A BCNZ stock item exists (#132-58) for this purpose.

Operating volts: 12Vdc

Ampere turns required: 70 to 90 

Resistance: To be between 1300 to 1400 Ohms at 20degC 

Approximate number of turns: 9,000 

Wire gauges: Coil - 46 SWG enamelled, F grade
 
		Termination: 30 SWG self-fluxing copper.
 
Tape used: Paper based, Bear 839 or equivalent.
 
Coil diameter:

Must be less than 0.437" (11.1mm) - this is the machined width of the casting recesses into which the coils are fitted. As the former width is specified as 0.400" it will be seen that little projection is permissible on the sides of the wound coil. Tape laps or termination bulges should occur at top or bottom, provided that overall height is less than 0.500".

Reed-Switch: A typical reed switch element is installed into the coil’s bobbin-moulding according to intended application
