Nikon
Coolpix 5400 digital camera review : The Nikon
Coolpix 5400 was first introduced to the public in May
of this year (2003). The camera has the same appearance
as his predecessor, the in September 2001 launched
Coolpix 5000. The compact size of the Coolpix 4500 with
the firm grip is noticeable. The handgrip enables a good
balance when holding the camera and the compact size
offers convenience and no instability.
Nikon
Coolpix 5400 - Features The camera features a
wide-angle lens, still exists rarely, and offers more
tele comparing to his successor. The optical zoom range
is 28-116 mm. The Nikon Coolpix features a very useful
Vari-angle high resolution LCD monitor to enable a
creative and free way of taking photographs. The camera
has a smaller CCD than his successor. The size of the
CCD is 1/1.8-inch while the Coolpix 5000 still had a
2/3-inch CCD. The highest resolution of the images
provides 5 effective Megapixels.
Nikon
Coolpix 5400 - Improvement The new Nikon Coolpix
5400 has been updated internal and external and is able
to compete with the present rivals of digital cameras.
The camera seems to be smoothed out, the weight is less,
there are pre-programmed modes, some new flash modes are
being introduced and the video function has a higher
resolution. All in all the new Coolpix 5400 offers
the enthusiastic photographer the possibility to
practise his or her hobby on a topical and high level.
We used the Nikon Coolpix 5400 for a few days and the
results of using this digital camera are described in
the next review.
