TV Not a Good Browser

" We
love our PANASONIC HDTV. Beautiful picture. Perfect with NETFLIX,
YOUTUBE, and with TIVO. However, big problem: It won't search internet
very well. We have upgraded our Router, purchased a WIFI booster, still
slow and for GOOGLE PHOTOS, it won't work at all. Browser just stops.
Having to re-log in every time that happens, only to never leave the
PHOTOS page is really a bother. I called PANASONIC tech support and went
online for tech support at PANASONIC, but you are asking me to pay to
answer my basic question: Is PANASONIC in a dispute with GOOGLE?

Panasonic Apps Need Improvement

Pros: Convenient, great picture, easy to setup.
Cons: Did not meet expectations, Difficult to use, apps are very limited, can't delete a bad app once installed
" I
have owned this TV since December 2012 (7 months). When an App doesn't
work you can't delete it and reinstall. You must reset the entire TV,
including favorites, etc, and use clumsy tools to login to everything
again. Several hours each time Netflix App crashes. Netflix says to
delete the App and reinstall. However Panasonic won't allow you to
delete the offending app, you can only delete everything and start over
again. Very frustrating experience. I've never encountered this user
unfriendly in over 20 years. Its like having a computer and if anything
goes wrong, format the PC and reinstall the Operating System
(Windows/MAC) from scratch.
Help
from Panasonic? Doesn't exist if the manual or FAQ don't answer your
question/problem. This will be my last Smart Panasonic TV purchase
unless Panasonic fixes the problem.
Otherwise
I like the TV. Great picture, controls, remote etc. Sound is weak, but
all very thin TV's have weak sound. They simply aren't big enough for
good speakers. I have hooked up a good soundbar and the sound is great.
Except for this issue with the Apps (Netflix) I think its a great TV.
But having to reset the entire TV to delete an App is engineering
incompetence at its best. And more than once for this problem becomes a
nuisance for me, the purchaser.

Default setting for sound are unusable and after adjusting sound
settings, sound is only just acceptable... definitely not killer like
the picture.

this as a replacement for my P42ST30. I use this in my upstairs
gameroom to watch sports, play video games with my son, and movies.
Impressed with the picture and features. The sound is a little weak, but
I have surround sound so no worries. Overall, I am pleased with the tv.

i got the tv and it was easy to set up. once i got the cable going the
picture was perfect, little change here and 100% happy. the built in
wireless is easy to use. Lets not forget all the COOL apps that are in
the tv but also the smart phone app that is VERY COOL. i will tell my
friends about this tv.

" Everything with this TV is EXCELLENT except for what I am listing below:
1.
The web browser is almost useless as it is hard to navigate and does
NOT play flash. Thus, sites like HBO GO cannot be played through the
browser. The Viera Connect remote app is slow to inputs when navigating
the cursor, but selecting the webpage on your phone and then flicking to
the TV is an excellent feature.
ATTN
Panasonic developers: Please set the default box on the viera remote
app's browser to google. It's annoying to have to navigate to google,
then search for what you want.
2.
Poor packaging. If you get a good unit, it's amazing. I've received 3
Panasonic Viera TVs, and 2 of them had big dents in the back. All of
them were through amazon, and delivered through UPS, so it could have
been any one of those middlemen. Nevertheless, the similarity of the
dent in the back suggests it is Panasonic's fault, either through damage
at the factory or poor packaging. You need to beef up protection on
your TVs.
3.
2D-3D conversion is poor, but I won't take any points off for that.
What do you expect with a source that wasn't made for 3D. Content that
is sourced for 3D (3D blueray movies) are AMAZING. You are going to get
an experience that is better than the movie theaters. I was thoroughly
impressed as I was expecting less with passive glasses. Panasonic nailed
the technology. I was able to put 3D movies on a USB thumb drive, plug
in, and it converted automatically. I was also able to connect to my
Macbook Pro via HDMI/minidisplay and play movies via VLC. The TV
automatically detected the 3D content and converted it automatically.
VERY IMPRESSIVE. Sometimes there is a little 1-2 second lag (you see 2
images for that time) but then it switches to the 3D image.
Summary: EXCELLENT buy if you get an undamaged unit.

What should I do if my TV will not turn on and the power indicator LED is not flashing?Follow these troubleshooting steps:
- Make sure your TV's power cord is plugged into an electrical outlet.
- Make sure the electrical outlet the TV is plugged into has power by testing known working device in that outlet.
- After verifying the TV is plugged into a working outlet, try pressing the [POWER] button on the TV instead of the TV remote.

What should I do if the front Power indicator LED light is blinking?1. Unplug the TV's power cord.
2. Unplug all cables.
3. Power the TV using a different power outlet (do not use a power strip or surge protector).

Note: Count how many times the LED light blinks. This can help a technician troubleshoot the problem. -
What should I do if I can access all of the TV apps except Netflix?1. Change the DNS setting of your TV to 8.8.8.8.
2. If you are able to access the Netflix splash screen, use the TV remote to deactivate your account by pressing Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Up, Up, Up, Up. After this process, try loggin back into the Netflix TV app.
If the procedure is successful a screen will come up with the option to deactivate your device from your account. If not try the process again. Once you have successfully deactivated your device, you will need to activate it by opening Netflix and at the main screen selecting Member Sign In, then following the on screen prompts until activation is complete.
If the Netflix app still fails to open, but all of the other TV apps work, visit help.netflix.com for more support.

What should I do if I have bars displaying on the TV screen?Change the format (aspect ratio) of the picture by pressing the [FORMAT] or [ASPECT] button on the TV's remote control. If you still have bars, check the aspect settings on your external video source, such as Cable/Satellite box, DVD/Blu-ray Disc player, etc. Note: Some content, such as film-based movies, are available in extra-wide format. Top and bottom bars are unavoidable.
