RELEASE NOTES The following program files will be installed on your system after installation is completed: Start SpaceWare Driver (spwsrv.exe) Starts the SpaceWare driver Stop SpaceWare Driver (Shutdown.exe) Stops the SpaceWare driver Test Program (spwtest.exe) A utlility which displays numeric output of the force being applied upon the Spaceball device. This utility can assist in determining if the Spaceball device is functioning correctly. Jet, Cityfly, Puzzle (jet.exe, cityfly.exe, puzzle.exe) SpaceWare Demos which should be used to practice using the Spaceball device. Configuration Program (config.exe) The Config Program allows for on-the-fly COM port and Spacetec device changes. On-the-fly means that the system will not have to be rebooted! ADDITIONAL NOTES Single Device Support The Spaceware 8.1 driver supports the use of only one Spaceball device at a time. HARDWARE AND INSTALLATION ISSUES SpaceWare Configuration - Invalid Device(s) Detected If, when using the SpaceWare configuration utility, the "Invalid Device(s) Detected" message is displayed, perform the following troubleshooting steps before calling technical support: 1. If this message is displayed, verify that the device is plugged securely into the COM port. 2. Make sure the device type displayed is the correct name for your device. 3. Verify that "none" displays in the "DEVICE TYPE" field of the non-utilized COM port. UPDATED/FIXED IN THIS RELEASE 1. This readme.txt file was updated to reflect current version and known issues. 2. On-line Help was updated to include configuration troubleshooting tips. 3. Support for Mechanical Desktop has been added.
