********************************************************************** *********************THE VLS3MODE TSR********************************* ********************************************************************** What is VLS3MODE -------------------------- The VLS3MODE is a TSR which temporarily setting the graphics card BIOS to report standard S3 modes to the S3 Display Drivers. enables you to use the Microstation and ADI4.2 drivers supplied by S3 if you have a 1 MB GrafixStar 300 or 500 or a 2 MB GrafixStar 700. VLS3MODE is not intended for use with Microsoft Windows. If you have VLS3MODE running on your machine and you wish to use Windows, simply reboot your machine to clear the graphics card BIOS of the TSR Installing VLS3MODE ---------------------------- To install VLS3MODE copy the VLS3MODE.COM file from the /VLS3MODE subdirectory on the GrafixStar DOS & NT Drivers disk to your hard drive in a directory listed in the DOS path. For example, you can copy VLS3MODE to the same directory as your ADI 4.2 drivers by copying the file "VLS3MODE.COM" from the \VLS3MODE subdirectory on the GrafixStar DOS & NT Drivers disk to your aquila subdirectory as follows: copy a:\VLS3MODE\VLS3MODE.COM c:\aquila Replacing "a:" and "c:" with the drive letters of your choice Running VLS3MODE ------------------------- Run VLS3MODE by typing VLS3MODE at the DOS prompt before you run Microstation, AutoCAD or 3DStudio. Once the TSR has been executed it will stay in memory until the machine has been switched off.
