To install the Windows 2003 IBMTape Device Drivers: Double click on install.exe to start the drivers installation or use the command line options as follows: install.exe [-c|-t] [-d] [-s] [-e|-n] [-h] c = install only the changer drivers t = install only the tape drivers d = output debug information to debug.txt s = silent mode (suppress IBM driver pop-ups) e = exclusive mode (automatically issue SCSI reserve on open, prevent multiple open handles to the same drive from a host -- default), e.g. used by IBM Tivoli Storage manager n = non-exclusive mode (do not issue SCSI reserve on open, allow multiple open handles to the same drive from a host) h = print this usage information You can also install the LTO device driver manually: 1) Unzip the appropriate x86 or x64 Zip file in a temporary folder. 2) Make sure your half high LTO4 tape drive is properly connected and powered on. 3) If intending to use with Windows RSM, execute the install.exe with the -n option from a command line. For example, c:\path >install -n where path is the temporary folder from step 1. 4) This will install the drivers for the tape drive and the tape enumerator. 5) Check the device manager and the yellow question mark will be gone. The tape drive will be listed as installed. 2.0 HBA Restrictions: There are no known HBA restrictions or limitations. 3.0 Web Sites and Support Phone Numbers 3.1 Web sites IBM Support Web Site: http://www-03.ibm.com/servers/eserver/support/xseries/index.html IBM IntelliStation Web site: http://www-132.ibm.com/content/home/store_IBMPublicUSA/en_US/IntelliStation_workstations.html IBM xSeries Tape Files http://www-304.ibm.com/jct01004c/systems/support/supportsite.wss/docdisplay?lndocid=TAPE-FILES&brandind=5000019 3.2 Software service and support -------------------------------- Through IBM Support Line, you can get telephone assistance, for a fee, with usage, configuration, and software problems with xSeries servers, IntelliStation workstations, and appliances.
