================================================================ Release Notes for hplto.sys tape miniclass driver Hewlett Packard 2004 ================================================================ 1. Revision is now reported as 1.0.3.1 2. Added support for Ultrium448 drive 3. Corner-case defect fixed relating to progress indication reporting during immediate mode commands. 4. Installation changed such that Windows RSM polling is NOT disabled; this reverses a change made in v1.0.3.0. With polling disabled, drive performance in a SAN environment may be greatly improved; however the Windows built-in backup application (NTBackup) relies on RSM to detect medium changes. The driver will therefore enable RSM polling when installed, so that NTBackup runs correctly. If it is desired to disable polling, edit the registry and modify the key called: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\hplto\AutoRun If this value is set to 0 then polling is disabled; setting it to 1 will enable RSM polling. After changing the registry, it may be necessary to stop and then re-start the tape driver; alternatively reboot the system.
