For a list of supported products, see the Installation help section below. -------------------------- End of Version Information -------------------------- Installation Help ================= Important Note: This driver will only run on Windows 2000. The Intense3D IntenseDrv Display Driver supports the Intense3D Wildcat 4000 and 4105 as well as the Intense3D RealiZm display adapters on Pentium, Pentium Pro, Pentium II and Xeon workstations. This driver will not run on any machine which does not have PCI backplane hardware. Some display adapters have been designed to work specifically in the AGP port instead of the PCI bus. Additionally, the machine must have 3.3 volts on the PCI bus (for those adapters that plug into the PCI bus) and provide support in the BIOS for VGA behind a PCI bridge. Supported Products ------------------ This driver supports the following Intense3D display adapters: RealiZm 2.0 RealiZm 1.3 RealiZm 1.3 Intense 3D Pro RealiZm V2.5 RealiZm V1.3 RealiZm II 2.5+ RealiZm II 1.3+ Intense 3D 2200 RealiZm II 2.5 RealiZm II 1.3 Intense 3D 3200 RealiZm III 2.5+ RealiZm III 2.5 Intense3D 34x0 Intense3D 3600 Intense3D 3510 Intense3D 4105 Lynx II Geometry Accelerator Lynx III Geometry Accelerator Lynx IV Geometry Accelerator Lynx V Geometry Accelerator See MANIFEST.TXT for a list of delivered files. Please refer to the installation documentation provided with the media supplied with your system. If you are trying to load an updated driver from the Intense3D web site, please do the following: 1. Save the self-extracting .zip file to a temporary directory on the system hard drive. 2. Double-click the self-extracting zip file to unzip the driver files. These driver files are compressed and will be expanded during the installation process. WINDOWS 2000 PLUG AND PLAY -------------------------- For driver installation and removal, refer to the Hardware section of the Windows 2000 online help. This Help is generally available by clicking on "Start" at the bottom left of the screen, and selecting the help entry from the menu. NOTE: During the installation, a dialog box will appear indicating that another disk is needed. This will correspond to the installation disks. Verify that the path in the entry line at the bottom of the dialog box points to the location for the next disk and select the option that will allow you to continue installation. If you have downloaded an updated driver form the Intense3D web site, enter the path corresponding to the Disk1, Disk2,... folders created by the self-extracting zip file. Additional note on VGA device: After installing the driver, a "Cirrus Logic 5430/5440 compatible Graphics Adaptor" or similar type VGA device, will will show up in the list of devices in the Add/Remove Hardware utility of Windows 2000. It will have an exclamation point " ! " in yellow circle. This will not affect any operation or functionality of the Intense3D card being used. You may however, elect to install this device, using the Intense3d driver, and selecting the "Intense3d VGA" option from the product list, during the installation. This will resolve the VGA device appearing in the list as described above. It will remove the exclamation point, but will not change, add, or remove any functionality or operation of the hardware or driver. On some older Realizm cards, when the driver is installed, you will need to configure the second screen as the primary desktop. If you have installed the driver, but the applet will not let you use the high resolution / high color display modes you will need to configure your screens so that the VGA is not the primary desktop. This can be done in the display properties applet. The reason for this is due to the cards being developed before the advent of Windows 2000 plug and play. The card has a separate VGA controler that is found by Windows before the accelerated video chipset. They both will show up in the properties applet as two devices (screen 1 and screen 2). Configuring the second device as the primary screen will tell Windows that the accelerated chipset is what you want as your primary display. Refer to the Windows 2000 online help for configuring screens in the applet. Unattended Installation Help ---------------------------- To install the Intense 3D Display driver as part of an unattended installation of Windows 2000, execute the following steps. 1. Copy all driver files to a single directory in the $oem$\$1\ path of the distribution directory (ex. d:\win2kdst\$oem$\$1\i3d). 2. Add the following sections to the unattend.txt file: [Unattended] OemPreinstall = yes OemPnPDriversPath = "\i3d" [Display] BitsPerPel = 32 XResolution = 1024 YResolution = 768 VRefresh = 75 3. Execute the unattended installation. NOTE: To bypass the digital signing check for a non WHQL version of the driver, add the following entries to the unattend.txt file: [SetupParams] DriverSigningPolicy = Ignore Automated Installation Help --------------------------- NOTES: Make sure you have write permission on the target machine as the automated installation will create temporary directories on its hard drive. 1. Create an installation directory on your hard drive and then copy all installation files into that directory. You may either create a directory structure having a disk1, disk2, ... format or just dump all files into the same directory. 2. Copy the contents of each installation disk to its corresponding folder. 3. Modify the setup.ini file to meet your specifications. 4. Run setup.exe. This executable should be in the disk1 folder.
