Think
Bridgeport just called it quick change when the tooling was
held in a r8 - 30 nmtb adaptor,.
but as far as i can
make out it's the same
Be careful though there are
lots of guys selling stuff ...who jump to the conclusion just
because it has a 30 taper its ...so and so
best have a
known one in your hand looking at it ...and then looking at
the picture of the item described by the
seller...........sometimes the collars are a tincy bit thinner
..........careful scrutiny ...and you learn how to recognise
this ...if the picture is right ... or you email them and
ask for a measurement of the collar.
Don't buy any
of the ones with a double collar.
Sometimes the
tooling is describes as
30-int int-30 30-international BE-30 Erickson
quick change and Erikson QC-30 DA-collet
holder/chuck...etc etc
and on and on
if you
search my posts i gave a full list of all permutations of
descriptions
Or Have a look at the manuals above
and decide your self.

NMTB 30 and Erikson QC 30
are not quite the same. The taper is the same and the NMTB 30
can be used in a QC 30 head if you remove the retaining nut
and use a draw bar. The NMTB 30 has a slightly larger
diameter collar that is also thinner than a QC 30. FYI-all
the stuff that 800 Watt sells will not fit a QC 30 head.

Thanks, Do you know of
any tool catalogs that sell Erickson QC tooling? I found
some in a KBC catalog, but it was from '98.

AFAIK, Collis http://www.collistool.com/home.htm and
Kennametal are the only ones selling the QC30 stuff anymore.
What a lot of guys do that have machines that take QC tooling
do is buy a ER collet holder or 2. JR
