Turn on Header Boxes

In your zen cart admin go to Tools -> LayoutBoxes Controller

Click on "sideboxes/your-template-override-directory/languages_header.php" and then click on the "edit" button

Set the "Single Column Status" to "ON", the "Single Column Sort Order" to something other than "0" , and click on the "update" button.

Follow the same procedure for turning on the curencies_header.php and ezpages_drop_menu.php sideboxes.
